In March, the Decacorn Cup—a networking event bringing together Japan’s top startups—was held at the Yoyogi National Stadium futsal courts. Team JSC (from AltX Research K.K.) took part.
Organized with Keisuke Honda at the center, 32 startup teams met for 4v4 futsal, team building, and friendly competition. X&KSK, led by Honda, is an investor in AltX Research (the “labs” company behind JSC); through that connection, core members of the JSC development team were able to join.
On the pitch
Team JSC gathered at 9:00 and, coached by former pro Daisuke Nasu of Team KSK, ran drills until the opening ceremony at 9:40. Before the first match at 10:15, we played a friendly warm-up to find our rhythm.
FirstShift Inc. was our first opponent. We fought hard but lost by two goals. In a tournament with some blowouts, we held our own—then exited under single elimination.
After that, Team JSC cheered the rest of the field, joined friendly matches with other tech startups, and enjoyed the semis and finals. Team KSK won in dramatic fashion, with Honda going into “beast mode” when the lead was just one point.
After the final whistle
After the closing ceremony, players, sponsors, and startup peers connected at the networking and social—a day of energy, relationships, and ideas.
Team JSC will carry that momentum into building teamwork on the pitch and in the codebase.
